Demonstration-learning lectures are presented on designated Saturdays of each month on a pre-announced topic. All presentations are at Saturday afternoon times listed with the topic.

Planning Your Visit
Timed reservations can be requested at the admission desk or by calling 301-790-0076 during operating hours. You can also fax your request to 301-790-0045. Please indicate program and time desired. Reservations may be made up to two weeks in advance of scheduled program and are limited to 5 persons per reservation. Space is limited to 25 participants each session. Individuals entering without a reservation may be accommodated on a first come, first served basis as space is available. Length of presentations varies from 45 to 90 minutes per session depending upon the topic and interactive activity.

Saturday Plus events are free with paid museum admission or annual membership. Programs are subject to change without notice.

Special Event – National DNA Day – Friday, April 25

DNA Depot will be on site to show you how to extract DNA from your favorite fruit. See what DNA really looks like. Build a model of the famous double helix. Learn about agarose gel electrophoresis and how DNA fingerprinting is done. This special event commemorates the completion of the Human Genome Project and the discovery of DNA’s double helix. Appropriate for all ages 8 and up. Three workshops: 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and 12 noon. Each workshop will take about 30 minutes. Reduced entrance fee: Students $3.00, Adults $5.00 includes all museum exhibits. Reservations required. See Planning Your Visit section above.
