Discovery Station and the Hagerstown Lions Club are cosponsoring the Second Annual Discovery Classic Golf Tournament to be held on Friday, July 25, 2008 at Black Rock Golf Course.
Shotgun start is at 8:15 a.m. The tournament is a Four Person Scramble Flighted format with a team minimum handicap of 50. Lady golfers are warmly welcomed.
Tournament prizes will be awarded to the top three teams in each flight and to winners of special contests, including Longest Drive on Designated Par 5 and Closest to Pin on all Par Threes. A Discovery Putting Challenge, open to all players as well as non-golfers, offers a $5,000 grand prize for the finalist who can sink a 50 ft. putt. A Hole-in-One on a designated hole wins a NEW 2008 TOYOTA COROLLA provided by Younger Toyota.
Entry fees for golfers are $80 for single individual, $300 for a foursome, and $350 for a foursome with hole sponsorship. The fee includes registration, duffer’s bag, greens fee and cart fee, beverage cart, buffet luncheon, multiple prizes, and free range balls at 8:00 a.m. Golfers’ entry also includes two free putts in the Discovery Putting Challenge. Two additional putts can be purchased for $5 each. Non-golfers can enter the Discovery Putting Challenge and enjoy the buffet luncheon for a $25 entry fee.
Corporate hole sponsorships are $100 each. Business sponsorships are available at three levels: Eagle $5,000; Birdie $2,500; Par $1,000.

Washington Street, Hagerstown, MD 21740 during museum operating hours, or contact us to have a registration form faxed, e-mailed or sent to you or your organization. Registration forms may also be available at some area golf courses. Entry fee by check made payable to Discovery Classic Golf Tournament must be submitted to the above address with a completed registration form. Entry fee may also be paid with Visa, MasterCard or Discover card when paid with registration in person at Discovery Station. Registration deadline is July 7, 2008.
Many golfers who participated in the first tournament held last year will be returning for the Second Annual Discovery Classic Golf Tournament, so get your registration in early. The tournament has a limit of 128 players.
